He was one of the pioneers of horror movies in Spain, and one of the most prolific actors that Spanish cinema has produced. The actor, writer and screenwriter Paul Naschy died on December 1, 2009 in Madrid, at the age of 75, as a result of pancreatic cancer. He was admitted to the Rúber clinic, to undergo surgery in case his life could have been saved.
