Patricia Routledge (Katherine Patricia Routledge) is an English singer, comedian and actress born February 17, 1929 in Tranmere, United Kingdom. She is known for her role as Hyacinth Bucket in the BBC sitcom Keeping Up Appearances.

Routledge began her acting career in theatre, specifically musical theatre, in the UK and USA. She was a longtime member of the Royal Shakespeare Company (RSC), appearing in some famous productions like the 1983 Richard III, which starred Antony Sher in the title role.
His West End credits include Little Cowardy Custard, Mary Sunshine, Noises Off, Virtue in Danger, The Solid Gold Cadillac and The Importance of Being Earnest, as well as a number of lesser vehicles.
She was nominated for the Laurence Olivier Awards for Best Supporting Actress for her work in And a Nightingale Sang in 1979. A classically trained singer, she made regular forays into
