Pastor Jimmy Odukoya Biography

Oluwajimi Odukoya popularly known as Jimmy Odukoya, was born April 27, 1977. He is a Nollywood actor, pastor, musician, relationship coach, and motivational speaker. He succeeded his father after his father’s demise, as the official senior pastor of the Fountain of Life Church, with his sister Tolu Odukoya-Ijogun confirmed as his associate pastor, both from September 2023. He also hit a great milestone in his acting career by appearing in the blockbuster Hollywood movie “The Woman King”.

Early Life and Education

Jimmy Odukoya was born on April 27 in the Ilupeju area of Lagos State, Nigeria to the late Pastor Taiwo and Bimbo Odukoya. He has two female siblings from his deceased mother and two male siblings from his late stepmother, Nomthi Odukoya, whom his father married in 2010. Jimmy has four siblings in total.

He had his primary and secondary education in Lagos State, Nigeria before moving to the United States of America where he bagged his first degree in Business Administration (advertising minor) from Oral Roberts University in Tulsa, Oklahoma and later an MBA in Business Administration from the same school.

Career

Jimmy Odukoya started his career in the Nollywood movie industry while starring in the movie titled “Baby Shower,” produced by Desmond Elliot. Other movies he has featured in also include Lifting the Veil, Charmed, and Gyn, among others. He played the role of Oba Ade in the 2022 blockbuster Netflix movie, The Woman King. In the movie, he starred alongside John Boyega, Lupita Nyong’O, Thuso Mbedu, Jayme Lawson, Hero Fiennes, Tiffin, Masali Baduza, and the famous African Grammy winner, Angelique Kidjo.

He has also worked with other actors in the industry such as Moyo Lawal, Omowunmi Dada, Ben Lugo Touitou, Bimbo Ademoye, and many others. He has, throughout the years, been successful in establishing a career for himself in the Nigerian film industry and is regarded as one of the most well-known actors in films, with an emphasis on English-language films.

Ministry

When Pastor Jimmy moved to Oklahoma in the U.S.A., he became active in a local church called Transformation church, formerly known as Greenwood Christian Center, under Bishop Gary and Debbie McIntosh. He was in the youth church, speaking during conferences and assisting in the growth and development of the ministry. During his college days, he switched to becoming a key player in assisting in the active college ministry of the Transformation church called B.I.O. (Bring It On).

After his proving, he was put in charge of all Church operations and Service coordination even as he served as an assistant to the then associate pastor, Pastor Calvin Battle, who is now the pastor of Destiny Center. After years of service at the Transformation Church, Jimmy Odukoya moved on to Bixby Community Church, where he became the Assistant to the Senior Pastor, Dr. Steve Greene.

He later gained his ministerial license in 2009. In the same year, he was ordained Pastor at Fountain Of Life Church, a church founded by his father, Taiwo Odukoya. Jimmy Oduokya was made the Assistant Pastor of Church 3:16, a youth ministry of Fountain of Life Church after he returned from the U.S.A. Pastor Jimmy worked with the Coordinating Pastor, Pastor Oyinda Soderu until he became the Coordinating Pastor of the Church 3:16 in February 2012.

Personal Life

Pastor Jimmy is married to Oluwakemi Folashade Banjoko who is now known as Kemi Odukoya, on March 9, 2013, in London. It was said that they both attended the same secondary school. She is an English graduate who was raised in London. They have two children together, a boy and a girl.
