Ovidio Guzmán López (born 1991) is a Mexican drug trafficker, criminal, controversial personality, and relative of the drug mafia from the city of Sinaloa. He is best known as the son of El Chapo, a Mexican drug lord and former leader of the Sinaloa Cartel.
Born into a poor family, El Chapo later became the world’s most powerful drug lord. In addition, Ovidio Guzmán is also very involved in the business of his father, who is currently in prison.
Ovidio was even accused of aiding his father’s powerful Sinaloa cartel in drug trafficking. Also, he works in a dangerous family business since he was a teenager. On October 17, 2019, López was released by the Mexican government in Culiacán.

Some lesser-known facts about Ovidio Guzmán López
- According to US officials, he is often called El Raton and Raton Nuevo.
- He even cited him for his involvement in the US government’s drug trafficking of methamphetamine, cocaine and marijuana cartel.
- The arrest of Raton Nuevo led to violence on the streets of Culiacán. Many vehicles were armed with machine guns and sniper rifles at the scene.
