According to The Punch, the gun-carrying hoodlums set the suspects free struck amidst a downpour on Thursday night, October 21.
More so, it was gathered that the policemen on duty fled, making the attackers have a field day. According to the newsmen, an indigene of the area who spoke anonymously said that the hoodlums were shot repeatedly at the police station.
“The gunshots were terrifying. We were terribly tense owing to the gunshots. They supervised the burning of the place before living.” Nevertheless, The Punch stated that a senior official who pleaded anonymity confirmed the incident and disclosed that the authorities had commenced an investigation in the latest onslaught.
Recall that some yet-to-be-identified gunmen had on Saturday, March 20, set the same Divisional Police Headquarters on fire. Apart from freeing suspects in detention, the attackers kidnapped one of the female cops on duty on that day.
