Omri Casspi is an Israeli professional basketball player, social activist and television personality known as one of the best players in the power forward and small forward position. Between 2005 and 2009 he played for Maccabi Tel Aviv and received prestigious awards such as winning the 2006 Israel State Cup and two-time champions in the Israel Super League in 2006 and 2009. In 2008 Omri was also named the 6th Israeli Super League Man of the Year and received a prestigious Israeli Super League Quintet award the next year. Omri was selected for the 2009 NBA Round 1 draft with the 23rd overall ranking of the NBA Sacramento Kings and played for them from 2009 to 2011 and then from 2014 to 2017.
Omri is also known for playing for NBA clubs like Cleveland Cavaliers (2011-2013), Houston Rockets (2013-2014), New Orleans Pelicans (2017) and Minnesota Timberwolves (2017). In 2017, he was signed to the Golden State Warriors and stayed there until April 7, 2018 after suffering an injury and being dropped from making a spot for Quinn Cook. He was then signed to the Memphis Grizzlieson 11 July 2018 but suffered an unfortunate meniscus tear in his right knee and was suspended by the club on 7 February 2019 and forced to await surgery.
