The Manchester United manager, Ole Gunnar said he is impressed over the performances of Zlatan Ibrahimovic since leaving the club.
United have been paired with AC Milan in the Europa League last-16 and will host the Serie A club in the first leg at Old Trafford on March 11.
United have confirmed that Diogo Dalot, who is on loan at AC Milan for the season, is eligible to play in the tie.
Ibrahimovic, meanwhile, is set to face United for the first time since his departure in March 2018.
The 39-year-old helped United win the League Cup and the Europa League during his time at the club, but his stint at Old Trafford was cut short after he suffered a cruciate ligament injury in April 2017.
Consequently, Solskjaer has praised Ibrahimovic, who has scored 27 goals in 40 appearances since returning to AC Milan in December 2019, for being able to return from such a major setback.
“Zlatan, of course, I’ve been so impressed, I’ve got to say, by how his career has gone. He had a career-threatening injury when he was here but came back from that and went to [the] MLS, then came back to Milan and has really lifted them.”
“They’re on the up and have done really well this season. I’ve been so impressed by him, and Diogo we know. He went there to get some experience at a big club and he’s learned a lot.”
“He’s played a lot more games this season, kept fit and, hopefully, we can give him some bother!”
