Northern leaders are sponsoring Terrorism, kidnapping and banditry – Chucks Ibegu

A former deputy Publicity Secretary of the Igbo socio-cultural organization “Ohanaeze Ndigbo”, Chucks Ibegu has accused the Northern Leaders of sponsoring Kidnapping, banditry, and terrorism in the Northern Region.

Ibegbu, who is the chairman of the board of trustees of the World Igbo People’s Assembly (WIPAS) made the allegation in a statement to newsmen on Tuesday.

The former secretary claimed that the northern elders want to make Nigeria ungovernable, adding that they also benefit from ransoms being paid by victims and from other illegal businesses as criminal activities grow rapidly in the country.

He also accused the President of nepotism for refusing to clamp down on the northern elders, he claimed that the president had sympathy for them.

In his words: “Some Northern leaders are sponsoring kidnapping and banditry in the North to make Nigeria ungovernable.

“The heat is now on the president and he is frustrated over the matter.

“Yes, during the Jonathan time, Buhari had sympathy for those plotting to make Nigeria ungovernable but he did not know that the wind sown then will now turn into a whirlwind and haunt them,” he added in the statement
