It was earlier reported that the dreaded Boko Haram Leader Abubakar Shekau allegedly blew himself up when asked to relinquish power.
The report has it that the Islamic State West Africa Province (ISWAP) attacked its mother group Boko Haram on Wednesday 19th of May 2021.
The Islamic State West Africa Province (ISWAP) was said to have attacked the Boko Haram Base with over 50 gun trucks.
The group reportedly tracked down Shekau’s hideout and killed most of his fighters in the process.
Shekau surrendered and engaged in an hours-long meeting with the ISWAP fighters. During the meeting, he was asked to voluntarily relinquish power and order his fighters in other areas to declare bai’a (allegiance) to ISWAP’s authority.
Reports have it that Shekau who secretly had a suicide vest on eventually blew himself up alongside everyone present during the negotiations to avoid been captured alive.
The reports however generated several reactions among Nigerians because the Boko Haram leader Shekau has been reportedly killed at least four times between July 2009 and Aug. 2015.

If you are faced with two dangerous snakes and one of the snakes kills the other, your battle isn’t over but I don’t see how you shouldn’t be pleased one of them is dead. Especially if the dead one had terrorised you and your people for longer. Shekau is dead. Good news. Period.
