Nigerian man invents sun cooker that uses the light of day to cook meals in Bauchi

A Nigerian man identified as Engineer Hamza Abubakar Ningi invented a sun cooker that uses the light of day to cook meals in Bauchi State.

The invention was said to cut expenses on kerosene with the solar stove invention.

Although the invention is already in existence, with the name solar cooker, this latest one is from Nigerian using local tools. More so, the device uses the energy of direct sunlight to heat, cook or pasteurize drinks and other food materials.

Many solar cookers currently in use are relatively inexpensive, low-tech devices, although some are as powerful or as expensive as traditional stoves,  and advanced, large-scale solar cookers can cook for hundreds of people. Because they use no fuel and cost nothing to operate, many nonprofit organizations are promoting their use worldwide in order to help reduce fuel costs and air pollution and to help slow down deforestation and desertification.

The development has generated much reaction from Nigerians who believed the federal government needs to invest in the young and talented man.

I’m proudly Naija because if our leaders are not doing well, some of us are making the country great with our talents/skills. Our govt should tap into all these talents by encouraging them and we too should encourage them in our own way…
