Nigerian Comedian Zicsaloma Speaks After Being Branded Crossdresser, Reveals Why He Dresses Like Women In Skits

Popular Nigerian skit maker and comedian, Zicsaloma, has cleared the air on recurring allegations labelling him a crossdresser, stating that his portrayal of female characters in skits is strictly for comedic effect and not a reflection of his personal identity.
In a recent interview, the comic actor, who recently underwent a nose job and facial enhancement procedure in Turkey, dismissed claims suggesting he promotes or practices crossdressing off-screen.
“I am not a crossdresser; I only dress like women for content. I don’t even wear makeup, not that I can’t do comedy without it. Mimicking females is my comic strength,” he said.
He argued that just as some entertainers adopt tribal or cultural personas for humor, his impersonation of women is simply a creative expression, not a lifestyle or form of advocacy.
“There are people who are good at mimicking different characters, like a typical Hausa man. Are you saying I influenced popular crossdressers, I don’t want to mention names, who heavily dress as women to events in gowns?” Zicsaloma questioned.
His clarification comes amid intensified public scrutiny of male entertainers who appear in feminine costumes, as debates around gender roles and expression continue to spark conversations across Nigeria’s digital space.
