  1. Geoffrey Robertson QC – Nigella had a relationship with Geoffrey, a human rights lawyer. They broke up when Geoffrey dropped her off for Kathy Lette, who was a novelist.

John Diamond (1986–2001) – She met John in 1986 while she was writing for The Sunday Times . John, a journalist, wrote for the same newspaper. They soon developed a fondness for each other and tied the knot in 1992. The couple was blessed with a daughter, Cosima Thomasina Diamond (1993) and a son, Bruno Paul Diamond (1996). In a twist of fate, Diamond was diagnosed with throat cancer in 1997 and succumbed to it in March 2001. After the funeral, Nigella went into a bout of depression.
  3. Charles Saatchi (2003-2013) – In September 2003, Nigella married Charles, an art collector. However, she was not particularly happy in this relationship. In 2012, she also expressed her dissatisfaction. June 2013, came as a shock to the public Sunday folkspublished photographs of Saatchi clutching Lawson by the throat outside a London seafood restaurant. He later attempted to disprove the truth about the images, saying it was “playful talk”. However, it was the beginning of her legal battle in court, and during the court hearing, Nigella revealed how Charles had made her life miserable with cruelty and his abusive nature, which led to her resorting to drugs. They ultimately divorced on July 31, 2013. She had no children from this marriage, although it had lasted a decade.

An English journalist, she began her career as a book critic and restaurant critic. She later became assistant editor of The Sunday Times (1986). This was followed by her journey as a freelance journalist, writing for a number of newspapers and magazines.

As a food writer

Despite not having received a professional chef or training in culinary arts, she continued to become a food writer out of sheer passion for cooking. She published How to Eat (1998), her first cookbook, which sold 300,000 copies and became a bestseller. How to be a Domestic Goddess (2000) was her second book and won the British Book Award for Author of the Year. To date, she has sold over 3 million cookbooks worldwide.

She first appeared on television in 1994 in the series Littlejohn Live and Uncut as herself on a July 8, 1994 episode.

Known for her curves, she accepted that her weight was an issue. However, she never really cared. In 2011, she appeared thinner and her friends mentioned that Nigella follows Bodyism Clean and Lean Plan – a meal program created by James Duigan , personal trainer and models nutritionist. The diet plan mainly involved body supplements, a cocktail of vitamins, minerals and fish oils that would kill cravings and burn fat.
