Peeples Nia was born December 10, 1961, in Hollywood, California, She was raised in West Covina. Her maternal grandparents were immigrants from the Philippines. Her father, who was originally from Mississippi, was of Scottish, English, and Irish ancestry. Peeples attended UCLA during which time she performed as Liberace’s opening act in Las Vegas on weekends. Peeples showed a natural inclination towards music and dance, leading her to attend West Covina’s prestigious Youth Performing Arts School. This foundational training laid the groundwork for her future successes in entertainment.

Nia Peeples began her professional career by being associated with a famous talent group The Young Americans.
