Fresh details have emerged about the arrest of controversial social media commentator, VeryDarkMan, suggesting that the Department of State Services (DSS), not the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), was behind the operation.

Earlier reports, had linked the arrest to the EFCC. The initial story claimed the outspoken critic was picked up in Abuja by security agents, though details were scant at the time.

However, in a recent update shared by well-known gossip blogger, Cutie Juls, the narrative has shifted. According to her post, VeryDarkMan had previously received six official invitations from the EFCC — a development his lawyer, Deji Adeyanju, was fully aware of. But it wasn’t the anti-graft agency that made the first move.

Cutie Juls alleged that the DSS swooped in and arrested him, only for the EFCC to later request that the DSS hand him over for further questioning linked to an ongoing investigation.

Adding more intrigue to the unfolding story, the blogger hinted that the arrest may be connected to a woman accused of money laundering. She claimed that investigators had uncovered conversations between the woman and VeryDarkMan that raised red flags.

While neither the DSS nor the EFCC has officially commented on the matter, the twist in the tale has sparked fresh debate on social media, with many calling for transparency and clarity regarding the charges and the agencies involved.
