The police service commission has set up a new in-house panel to analyze the charges leveled by the US Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) against suspended Deputy Commissioner of Police, Abba Kyari for his involvement in a fraudulent scheme with the arrested international fraudster, Ramon Abbas, aka Hushpuppi.

Recall that Abba Kyari was suspended due to the allegations of corruption leveled against him by the Federal Bureau of Investigation in the United States.
A new panel headed by Barr. Tijani Mohammed, Director, Department of Police Discipline in the commission has been established to investigate Abba Kyari. Meanwhile, Kyari met an investigative panel set up by the IGP, Mohammed Adamu, and led by the Deputy Inspector-General of Police, Joseph Egbunike.

In a recent development, A group of 31 lawyers from the northern part of Nigeria has volunteered to defend the embattled Deputy Commissioner of Police, Abba Kyari, against the indictment by the Federal Bureau of Investigation
Barrister Bappah Salisu, who spoke for the group of lawyers drawn from the 19 Northern states in the country, disclosed this in a statement issued in Abuja.
The legal practitioners said their decision to offer free legal services to Kyari was in response to the recent call by the Coalition of Northern Groups for the preservation of his fundamental rights following an indictment by a court in the United States of America.
