Nathan Darrow is an American actor who came into the limelight in 2013 after playing the role of Edward Meechum, a bodyguard in the Netflix show, “House of Cards”. While working for the show, Darrow shared the stage with another actor, ‘ Mozhan Marnò ‘ who played the famed role of Ayla Sayyad. After starting out with the Netflix show, he started to find his feet and was constantly capturing the hearts of the show’s fans.

Nathan Darrow was born on June 21, 1976 in Kansas City, Missouri. He grew up alongside his parents and siblings and started his life well in the suburbs. Darrow is of white ethnicity and is American by nationality.

For his education, Darrow attended Shawnee Mission North High School in Overland Park in his hometown. After graduating from high school, he joined the University of Evansville to further his education. Then he joined the graduate school at New York University from where he was able to gain a better understanding and experience in acting.

After graduating and gaining valuable theatrical experience, Darrow moved back to Kansas City in 2003. He then began performing at stages like the Unicorn Theater, Kansas City Repertory Theater, and more. Darrow was also making appearances in productions of Shakespearean plays like Henry V, Romeo and Juliet etc. These roles brought him fame and rave reviews.

In 2006, Darrow made his debut in ‘Civil War Stories’ which brought him closer to a wider audience. It was a big step in helping him take his career in the right direction. Likewise, it was also the one who helped him land the role alongside Kevin Spacey in an international touring production of Shakespeare’s Richard III. Spacey was very impressed with the young actor’s performance and wanted him to be a part of the Netflix show, ‘House of Cards’.

For the series, Darrow played the role of Edward Meechum who was a Secret Service agent and local bodyguard to Spacey’s character Frank Underwood. He is now a fan favorite, but his role ended after working for 4 consecutive seasons. Nathan’s character was killed off after taking a bullet to protect the President of the United States, Underwood.

Currently Darrow is involved with smaller screen roles in the form of Gotham, Billions and The Wizard of Lies. He also continues to do what he loves in small theater.

Looking now at the personal aspects of his life, there have been many theories about this Darrow’s sexual orientation. This all stems from playing a gay character on House of Cards and kissing Kevin Spacey for the show. He is, however, a straight man, married to a woman and father of two children.
