Nathaniel Clyne is an English international footballer who plays as a right-back at Liverpool FC in Merseyside. The defender, who is known for his power and strength in defence, as well as his ability to join or launch an attack from the defence, is looking to break into the first team in the coming months after spending almost a year on the sidelines due to injuries.

early childhood and education

Clyne was born Nathaniel Edwin Clyne on April 5, 1991 in Stockwell, London. From an early age, the player dreamed of becoming a professional footballer. He and other kids have always played pick-up games in their field, and it was during one of these games that Clyne was discovered by an academy trainer named Steadman Scott.

Mr. Scott, who owned Afewee Academy, recruited Clyne and helped him grow into the player he is today. Clyne had started out as a striker, but soon found himself in a right-back position due to his size. He embraced his new role and quickly caught the eye of major London clubs. In 1999, despite interest from Tottenham Hotspur, Clyne opted to join the relatively smaller Crystal Palace. He was part of the youth team for eight years, before being promoted to the senior team in 2008.

He made his first-team debut for Crystal Palace on 18 October 2008 in a league match against Barnsley. Two days after this match, he signed his first professional contract with the club. He spent four years with the senior team, playing a total of 137 matches and winning the 2011 Player of the Year award before joining Southampton.

Clyne enjoyed huge success with the Saints and his performances earned him call-ups to England’s Under-21 and senior squads. He also got on Liverpool’s shopping list who were looking to replace veteran right-back, Glen Johnson. Liverpool eventually paid £12.5million for Clyne’s services on July 1, 2015 and the rest is history.

Is Nathaniel Clyne gay?

A quick Google search of active footballers who are gay will tell you that currently there are none. This means that Nathaniel Clyne, who is still actively playing and reaching the peak of his career with Liverpool, is not gay.

Her sexual orientation was the subject of speculation a few years ago. He and his former Southampton team-mate Luke Shaw were seen as the first active footballers to come out as gay after a major newspaper wrote that two Premier League players, including an England International player, would soon come out as gay . He added that the two men would reveal their sexual orientation at the same time in order to share the weight of the media coverage they would receive.

Does he have a wife or a girlfriend?

Nathaniel Clyne is unmarried and it is unclear if he is currently in any relationship although he has in the past been linked with British playboy model Carla Howe, Brazilian model Sahara Santos, and most recently with another woman only identified as Kelci Molloy.

In December 2015 and most of 2016, Clyne reportedly dated Carla Howe, as the two had a great time clubbing. The pair then went their separate ways, making way for Clyne and Santos, who starred on online comedy show TrollStationUK and a music video for American musician Trey Songz. Clyne was pictured with Santos in August 2017 as the pair walked arm in arm through rainy London. This led to speculation that the pair could be in the running, but the duo never heard from them again.

A few months later, the England international began a relationship with Kelci Molloy whom he met on Facebook. The couple reportedly hit it off immediately and quickly became a couple, as they went on a romantic vacation to Qatar together. Everything seemed to be going well for the couple until it came to allegations made in the tabloids by Molloy who said her man cheated on her when she was heavily pregnant with his child. She allegedly dumped him afterward and arranged for the child, a son Nathaniel, to be named after his father.
