Naomi Elaine Campbell popularly known as Naomi Campbell was born in Lambeth, South London to Jamaican-born dancer Valerie Morris on 22 May 1970. Campbell has never met her father, who left her mother when she was four months pregnant and isn’t listed on her birth certificate, as per her mother’s wishes.
She adopted her mother’s second marriage’s surname, Campbell. Pierre, her half-brother, was conceived in 1985. Campbell’s paternal grandmother, whose last name was Ming, gave her both Afro-Jamaican origin and Chinese-Jamaican lineage.
