The international superstar made the revelation in an interview on BBC Radio 1, noting that his infant daughter, Lyra Antarctica, is not a fan of his music as he would have hoped.
He said Lyra was “not my biggest fan”, although she does like the odd song.
“She really likes Shape Of You, the marimba sound is good, but she doesn’t like anything loud or anything belty,” he said.
However, the couple said they were on “cloud nine” shortly after announcing the arrival of their first child, who they named Lyra Antarctica Seaborn Sheeran last September.
Ed Sheeran who made the announcement via his Instagram handle thank the “amazing delivery team”, and then stated the name of his newly born daughter.
Sharing the picture of a baby shawl and socks, the singer however urged his fans to respect the family’s privacy at that moment.
He wrote: “Ello! A quick message from me as I have some personal news that I wanted to share with you,” Sheeran said in his first Instagram post since December 2019.
“Last week, with the help of an amazing delivery team, Cherry gave birth to our beautiful and healthy daughter – Lyra Antarctica Seaborn Sheeran.
“We are completely in love with her. Both mum and baby are doing amazing and we are on cloud nine over here. We hope that you can respect our privacy at this time. Lots of love and I’ll see you when it’s time to come back, Ed x
