Mireille Enos
He has nerve. One must follow the trajectory of Mireille Enos, who could take off in cinema after starring with talent on the small screen The Killing , an exciting police series.
Mireille Enos was born in Texas, Houston, United States, on September 22, 1975. The fourth of five children in a devout Mormon family, she herself studied at Brigham Young University of this religious denomination, and there she won a scholarship which allowed him to prepare to act, thus following in the footsteps of two of his older brothers. With such a background, she seemed like the perfect candidate to be in the HBO series about a Mormon and his three wives Her Big Love , where she played twin sisters, Kathy and Jodean Marquart, in the fourth and fifth seasons.
Enos’s acting career has been primarily on television and the theater stage. His presence on the small screen has almost always been in minor roles, in episodes of Sex and the City, Philadelphia Doctors , Rescue Me , Without a Trace , Numb3rs and CSI: Miami , among other series. On stage she has participated in works such as the comedy “The Female of the Species” by Joanna Murray-Smith, and “Who’s Afraid of Virginia Woolf ?”, by Edward Albee , for which she was nominated for a Tony.
Her big, big break has come from the hand of Sarah Linden from The Killing (series) , where she assumes the leading role of a Seattle police inspector, estranged mother of a teenage son, who obsessively investigates the mysterious death. of a young woman in the middle of the electoral campaign for the mayoralty of the city. Her appearance and her determination are very reminiscent of Jennifer Garner from Alias, and the actress shows her enormous acting capacity, especially in an episode in which the case that is the backbone of the series is momentarily set aside to reflect Linden’s anguish when her son disappears. The actress assures that she did not want to see the original Danish series to compose her character with more freedom, which she likes because it is complex: “She is a mother. Sometimes a bad mother, other times a good one. She is a professional, incredibly good at her job. She tries to cooperate with her partner. She’s engaged. In that she is sometimes more successful, sometimes less. She is deeply reserved. But she’s also a really normal girl.”
Married since 2008 to fellow actor Alan Ruck , with whom she has a daughter -she filmed the pilot for The Killing (series) while she was four months pregnant-, the opportunity to travel on the big screen may have finally arrived, because until now it had only appeared fleetingly in Siempre a tu lado (2001). She will be in supporting roles, but she can be seen in The Gangster Squad , which stars Ryan Gosling , with heavy hitters Sean Penn and Nick Nolte , and in World War Z , which stars Brad Pitt .
