Miguel Angel Silvestre
Few are the Spanish actors capable of raising so much passion among their followers. Miguel Ángel Silvestre causes real crowds wherever he goes, as if he were a member of The Beatles. Born on April 6, 1982 in Castellón de la Plana, Miguel Ángel Silvestre’s first great passion was tennis. But his breakthrough to stardom came when he starred in Sin tetas no hay paraíso , a Spanish version of a Colombian television series that literally swept the world, in which he played Rafael “El Duque”, a well-known and feared drug trafficker. Since then, his followers have concentrated on his public appearances to cheer him on by shouting “Duke”. After two seasons, fearing a definitive typecasting, he decides to leave the series, in search of new film projects.
Thus, he plays a double role in Reflections , shot in English where he shared the bill with Timothy Hutton . To capture a serial killer, a Europol agent (Timothy Hutton) requires the help of the suspect’s little brother, as both were conceived in a fertility clinic and have very similar DNA. Silvestre was successful in the challenge of embodying the two physically identical brothers.
In addition, he supports the young filmmaker Eduardo Chapero-Jackson playing a gas station in the short The End . The filmmaker has given her an important role in Verbo , his feature debut, which narrates the initiation journey of a suburban teenager.
