Mia Farrow

Mia Farrow has been one of Woody Allen’s great muses, a role from which she was relieved. Even so, the actress can boast of having a full life, both professionally and personally.

Mia Farrow was born on February 9, 1945 in Los Angeles into a very cinematographic family. Her father was director John Farrow and her mother was Maureen O’Sullivan , better known as Jane, Tarzan’s girlfriend. With such a family environment, it is not uncommon for the little girl to make her film debut in 1959 with a small role in Captain Jones , a film directed by her father. Just four years later, Dad Farrow died of a heart attack, but the little girl was already determined to be an actress. So for her next film she was placed under the orders of Anthony Mann in Sentence for a dandy (1968). That same year she played her first leading role in Roman Polanski ‘s haunting film The devil’s seed . She must not have had a bad memory of the film, since the actress lives next to the Dakota building, where she filmed the terrifying tape. A place also sadly known because it was where John Lennon , Mia’s personal friend, was assassinated.

After her good performance as Rosemary, her career developed for titles of little consequence where she had the opportunity to share the bill with screen stars such as Elizabeth Taylor in Secret Ceremony (1968), Dustin Hoffman in John and Mary (1969) or Bette Davis in Death on the Nile (1978). From this stage, her work stands out in The Great Gatsby (1974) together with Robert Redford . Those were years in which she also had the opportunity to work for great filmmakers such as Claude Chabrol in Doctor Casanova (1972) or Robert Altman inA wedding day (1978). However, her career-defining moment came in 1982 when she starred with Woody Allen in The Sex Comedy of a Midsummer Night (1982). From then on, the actress became her muse and she worked for him on twelve more titles, including Hannah and her sisters From her (1986) or New York Stories (1989). Her last collaboration occurred in 1992 on Husbands and Women , something that never came to be. The couple had a romantic relationship for several years, but their love story broke up in 1996 when the New York filmmaker began a relationship with his adopted daughter From him Soon-Yi Previn, with whom he has married and currently lives. Before meeting Allen, Mia was married to Frank Sinatra for two years and André Previn for nine years . From all her relationships she has 14 children, one of whom died of a heart problem. Ten of her offspring are adopted and most are born in foreign countries, as Mia has always been committed to those who need it most.

His large family did not take time away from him to continue working, although cinematically, the post-Allen era was not very fruitful. He made films with little significance such as Widows’ Peak (1994) and participated in numerous telefilms and television series. His reunion with the general public is taking place in these years. In 2006 she was the diabolical babysitter in the remake of The Prophecy (2006) , a role with which she made it clear that the themes of demoniacs are not bad at all. That same year she was the tender grandmother of the child protagonist of Arthur and the Minimoys . She is now about to release the Michel Gondry comedy Rewind Please , which stars Jack Black. Although it is still not possible to speak of a return in style to the cinema of Mia Farrow, the actress seems to be on the right track. However, she has a busy enough life that she cannot be blamed for not making more movies for the cinema. Farrow has never left the theater, an occupation that she will add to that of being the mother of a large family. And as if that were not enough, Mia has been a prominent member of UNICEF for years. The most supportive facet of hers has led her to get involved with different causes. Currently, the conflict that consumes her days is that of Darfur in Sudan. The involvement of the actress is such that she did not hesitate to openly criticize Steven Spielbergbecause the filmmaker was going to collaborate on a promotional video for the Beijing Olympics. Without mincing words, he fights daily for what he believes to be fair. So, despite being a dethroned muse, Mia Farrow can boast of having a more than complete life, both professionally and personally.
