Mercy Chinwo just an entertainer, charges 10 million per show, Catholic Priest claims

In a video making rounds on the internet, a Catholic Priest named Rev Fr Oluoma claimed that Mercy Chinwo now charges N10 million naira just to be invited to perform at an event. In his comparison, he likened the likes of Mercy Chinwo to performers, and entertainers who are in the business just to make a gain off the ministry works.

He noted that as a servant of God that Mercy Chinwo and other gospel singers claim to be they ought not to charge a fee whenever they are actually invited to perform in an event, they should rather focus on blessing the people of God rather than behaving like artists in the world who charges per show for the sake of entertaining the audience and fans.

In his word, “We have made worship expensive, this are the tragedy that we have turned Christianity to, that an artist will come to a church and lead the praise worship for 10 million naira, 5 million naira so if that particular artist does not sing Jesus you love me too much that means God no love you too much and some people are asking, should they be paid, why won’t you pay them, if you must bring them you must pay them because what you are bringing them for is entainment, we have turn worship into entainment, we are copying the world”.
