Meet Zion Clark, the fastest man on two hands

Zion Clark is the fastest man on two hands; he is an American wrestler and a university student without legs. Clark is currently a Business Management student at Kent State University in Tuscarawas, New Philadelphia.

He wrestles for the school’s wrestling team, plays the drums at church and video games at home with his best friend.

H is a 24-year-old successful wrestler and a Guinness World Record holder for walking on his hands. While he’s now found fame in sports, his childhood was marked with personal trials.

Clark was born without legs and raised in foster care. When interviewed, he said he was bullied, underfed, and physically attacked in foster homes and his schools. However, when Clark was adopted by his mom at the age of 17, he finally felt supported and loved, and he started to turn his life around.

While setting a world record for the fastest 20m walking on hands, with a time of 4.78 seconds, he has also released a book ‘Zion Unmatched,’

“I had to deal with trying to survive on my own and just make it through life because a lot of these families were just there for a check,” Clark told Insider. “I was the kid that they got for the wrong reason.”

More so, he said he was encouraged to pick up sports seriously while in grade two by his art teacher. His art teacher was also a wrestling coach. After the advice, he took up the challenge and started wrestling until high school. He signed up for the school”s wrestling team while in Massillon Washington High School. Zion qualified to be a member.

However, in his junior year, he lost all his games but he determined himself and trained harder and made it to the semi-finals in the championship in his senior year. Zion was once approached by a paralympic official who encouraged him to try wheelchair racing.

He again took up this challenge and became Ohio”s fastest runner and won the 2016 100 meters and 400-meter state title. Netflix released a short film documentary on Clark and his journey so far on August 10, 2018. He also became the third in the 800-meter race.
