Matthew Broderick

He became famous when he starred  in War Games  (1983), a film that marked a milestone in later cinema, by showing the enormous potential of computers and those who mastered computer language.

Broderick, born in New York in 1962, was then only 21 years old, and even looked younger, and with his perpetual adolescent face (a bit like Michael J. Fox ) he carved out an important film career in that decade . . Thus, he stood out notably in Lady Hawk (1985), Family Business (1989), Glory Times (1989) and The Rookie (1990). More recently we have enjoyed his acting skills in Alexander Payne ‘s fun Election (1999), the fantastic and independent You Can Count On Me (2000) or The Perfect Women (2004).

But for a long time, Broderick has combined the cinema with the theater and the results have been extraordinary. In his Broadway debut in 1983 (the same year as War Games ) he won the Tony Award for Neil Simon ‘s “Brighton Beach Memoirs”, and in 1995 he won the highest theater award again with the revival of the musical. “How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying,” by Jack O’Brien. He also had a huge success with “All in a Day” by John Hughes , before being nominated for a Tony again thanks to “The Producers.” Soon we will see him in Margaret , the next film by Kenneth Lonergan , who already directed him in You can count on me, where he will be accompanied by Anna Paquin , Matt Damon and Mark Ruffalo .
