They found Joan’s dead body in the driveway. Later, the police entered the house and found the deceased body of a woman and a child. Furthermore, the family dog was also shot to death by the killer.
The officers closed off the entire area as Matthew Bernard was still armed with a rifle. A search warrant for pursuit and first-degree murder was also issued. Neighbors saw him flee naked through the nearby wooded area before police arrived.
In addition, the local media also captured some images when the authorities were chasing him. Fortunately, Matthew eventually got apprehended and taken into custody. The main motive for the killings has yet to be released.
