Matt Damon
He is an actor, although his big step in Hollywood was when he won the Oscar for Best Screenplay for Good Will Hunting .
Matt Damon and his good friend Ben Affleck wrote the script for Good Will Hunting (1997) to find work. The result was an Oscar and a Golden Globe, which jump-started his acting career. Until then, Matt Damon had been secondary in films like Private School (1992) or Geronimo, a legend (1993). Those were years that revealed a constant in his career: working under the orders of recognized directors of the moment. Thus Edward Zwick counted on him for In honor of the truth (1996) and Francis Ford Coppola would give him his first leading role in the judicial drama Legitimate defense(1997). Nine years later he was a great friend of Coppola’s, Martin Scorsese , who cast him as a co-star in The Departed . He was 27 years old when the young man from Massachusetts wrote and starred in Handsome… , where he gave life to a gifted boy with limited financial resources. Gus Van Sant directed the project and five years later wrote the screenplay for Gerry with him , the only time he has returned to repeat in this field. However, Damon claims that he would love to rewrite a movie script with Affleck, and if they haven’t done so yet it’s due to lack of time, since the two have quite a lot of work as actors.
