- Mark’s parents separated when he was 4 years old. After their divorce, Mark and his two brothers went to live with their father.
- When Mark was 6 years old, his father decided it was best for them to move to Rancho Santa Margarita in Orange County, California.
- His father, Mark, would get him to undergo a combination of mental and athletic performance training. He was forced to dribble a basketball while telling multiplication tables. He practiced baseball swings in a cage while answering questions about the periodic table.
- During his freshman year at Santa Margarita, Sanchez threw for a 55-yard touchdown.
- In 2005, Mark was selected Football Player of the Year and was ranked as one of the top quarterbacks in the United States after retiring from high school football.
- In April 2006, Mark was handcuffed by police for sexually abusing a USC student. Eventually, he was briefly detained and released just a day later.
