The fans of the series “Glee” were in mourning again, five years after the death of Cory Monteith, for combining heroin and alcohol.

Another fictional protagonist,  Mark Salling , committed suicide on January 30, 2018, in Los Angeles, at the age of 35. His body was found at 9 in the morning along the Sunland River, north of the city. According to a spokesman for the coroner’s office, he died by hanging.

The unfortunate event occurred a few weeks before the date set for sentencing, after being indicted for possession of child pornography. Although he faced a sentence of between four and seven years in jail, a reduction was expected after he pleaded guilty and reached a plea bargain.

At the end of 2015, the police found some 50,000 pornographic and erotic photographs of children at his home, in addition to some 600 videos that, according to him, he had downloaded from the internet. After the scandal broke out in the media, Salling became part of the sex offender registry. In the summer he had already tried to commit suicide by cutting his wrists, although he repented in time and ended up going to a hospital. He then underwent psychiatric evaluation and spent time in a rehab clinic.

Born in Dallas (Texas), on August 17, 1982,  Mark Salling  sang and wrote his own songs, apart from playing the piano, guitar, bass and drums. After attending the Pasadena Academy of Music in Los Angeles, he tried to make it in this sector by adopting the pseudonym Jericho.

He debuted as an actor at a very young age, playing a teenager in  Children of the Corn 4: The Reunion , a sequel to the film based on  Stephen King ‘s story , intended for direct-to-video release, which featured a then-unknown  Naomi Watts . He later starred in an episode of  Walker, Texas Ranger , and appeared in the TV Movies  The Graveyard  and  Rocky Road .

Fame came to him for playing Noah Puck Puckerman, during the six seasons of the  Glee series . He was a soccer player, classmate and friend of Finn (the character of the also ill-fated Monteith), who at first despised him joining the high school choir. For this role he won the 2010 Screen Actors Guild Award for Best Secondary in a Television Series.
