Mark Dantonio is a former American football coach in college football. Back in his grad school days, he played defensive back and earned three letters for the Gamecocks job. The head coach announced his retirement on February 4, 2020 after recording the MSU football team’s highest-earning head coach.

He spent 14 years as the head coach of the Michigan State football team after serving in the 2007 season. He was then named head coach in December 2003 for Cincinnati until 2006 and led the team to a bowling game victory and led the team’s transition to the Big East Conference. Since 2007, he has been Michigan State’s 24th head coach until the date he announced his retirement on February 4, 2020.
