He is at the top of the particular Spanish Star-System, which means that Mario Casas is one of the few Spanish actors capable of taking the public to theaters by themselves, which can be considered quite a feat. In addition, and although he lacks important titles to shoot, he promises manners, since his works are convincing.

Born in La Coruña, on June 12, 1986, Mario Casas liked to be in front of the cameras since he was a child, since at the age of 8 he already filmed several commercials and at 10 he participated in a debate on the “Crónicas marcianas” program.

After a decade in advertising, he studied Mechanical Engineering, and entered the Cristina Rota School of Interpretation . After various episodes of series, he debuted in the cinema at the hands of Antonio Banderas in El camino de los ingleses , where he was Moratalla, the youngest and most naive of the leading group. “He was one of those boys who wants to be a man but isn’t yet,” recalls the actor.

When he led the cast of the SMS series, without fear of dreaming , he fell in love with one of his co-stars, Amaia Salamanca . They maintained a relationship for a few months, and although they broke up, they met again as the protagonists of the comedy Brain Drain . This film was a huge box office success, like Mentiras y gordas .

He owes his popularity to Los hombres de Paco , where he played Aitor Carrasco, a new policeman who was the boyfriend of the protagonist’s daughter. Thanks to the unusual success of the series, Casas became a mass idol, especially for adolescents.

His most important film has been 3 meters above the sky , adaptation of a novel by Federico Moccia , in which the best is his work, as a misfit who conquers a young woman from a good family, played by María Valverde . Shortly after, he released Neon Flesh , a Spanish film that imitated the style of Guy Ritchie ‘s first films .

In addition to starring in the apocalyptic series El barco , Casas is going to meet again with María Valverde in La mula , an adaptation of a novel about the Civil War by Juan Eslava Galán, directed by Michael Radford .

Casas has three brothers, two boys who are dedicated to acting and a girl. The most famous is the very young Óscar Casas , a regular actor in the series Águila Roja . “We are a pineapple and we like to be together to feel good. For me, life is family and then everything else: work, friends…”. In fact, Casas’ great dream is to have children one day. “I want to have four or five children,” he has commented.
