Margaret Field
Margaret Field, was successful on television, and starred in some B-movies, although she usually played supporting roles. The mother of the popular actress Sally Field died of cancer on Sunday, November 6, in Malibu (California). She was 86 years old.
Born in Houston, Texas, on May 10, 1922, Margaret Morlan moved to Pasadena during World War II. A Paramount scout found her on a corner and noticed her spectacular beauty, so she offered him to do a camera test. She fit the image of her so well that she was offered an 18-month contract. Right after she was sent to study acting at Pasadena Junior College.
He appeared as an extra in the 1946 comedy Our Hearts Were Growing Up , followed by numerous minimally involved films such as Samson and Delilah .
Fans of the B series remember her for the cult film Being from Planet X , where she was Enid Elliot, the daughter of a scientist who discovers that a new planet is rapidly approaching Earth. An explorer from that planet came to the observatory where her father worked.
In 1942 she married Army officer Richard Dryden Field, with whom she had two children, Richard Jr., and Sally, the now famous movie star. She divorced in 1950, and had another daughter with stuntman Jock Mahoney , Princess O’Mahoney, an actress and director.
Starting in the 50s, he took part in numerous television series, such as The Range River , The Untouchables , Perry Mason and Bonanza . Her latest work is the telefilm The Stranger , where she briefly appeared as a nurse.
