1. In 1982, his father Marcos Alonso Peña became the most expensive Spanish first division club after FC Barcelona paid Atlético Madrid 150 million pesetas to purchase his services.
2. Although he was always destined to be a football player, it wasn’t until he was eleven that he really focused on the game.
3. While at Real Madrid’s youth academy, he played alongside Manchester United playmaker Juan Mata.
