Manny Pacquiao attended Saavedra Saway Elementary School in General Santos, Philippines. However, he left school at age 14 due to extreme poverty. He left home and high school to earn money.

Much later in 2007, Manny took Pacquiao and passed the exam equivalent to high school. His high school diploma was awarded by the Ministry of Education in the Philippines. This made him eligible for higher education and he enrolled in business administration at Notre Dame at Dadiangas University (NDDU) in the Philippines.

For his boxing achievements and humanitarian work in his country, Southwestern University (SWU) at the Waterfront Cebu City Hotel & Casino in Lahug awarded him an honorary Doctor of Humanities degree on February 18, 2009.

To strengthen his knowledge as a legislator in the House of Representatives, Pacquiao has completed a certificate course in Development, Legislation and Governance at the Development Academy of the Philippines – Graduate School of Public and Development Management (DAP-GSPDM).
