Manisha Valmiki was born into a poor family in the year 2000 in Hathras, Uttar Pradesh, India. The exact date of birth of her is not available, according to media reports, Manisha died at the age of 19. Her father (name unknown) is a farmer and her mother is a housewife.
According to sources, he has two siblings in the family, a brother “Satyendra” and a sister. She was a smart girl. According to media reports, Manisha completed her education at a local government school.

Hathras Gang Rape Case (Full Story)
According to media reports, the incident occurred on the morning of September 14, 2020, in the Hathras town of Boolagarhi in Uttar Pradesh. According to the sources, Manisha Valmiki had gone to collect baby food (fodder) from a field with her mother.
Suddenly, a group of men grabbed her from behind and dragged her into a field where she was allegedly robbed and gang-raped. Supposedly, she was dragged so badly by a dupatta (scarf) that it caused a deep wound on her spine.
In a statement to the media, Manisha’s mother said: “I was mowing the grass and Manisha moved to the other side to pick up the extra grass. When I went to look, I couldn’t find it. I screamed and chased after her and saw one of her shoes. There were drag marks near him. I followed them to discover my little girl lying down with barely any blood coming out of her mouth; she did not have the option to speak, her tongue had been cut out”.
Injuries, cure, and death
Not long after the news about the alleged assault on Manisha was released, some reports claimed that the victim suffered various injuries and was disabled; she was caused by spinal injuries. Also, she supposedly had a cut on her tongue.
According to a police officer, the defendant had attempted to strangle her to death while she was opposing them, and in the meantime, she ended up keeping quiet and sustaining a bad cut. According to the victim’s mother, the criminals broke her (the victim’s) spinal cord, gouged out her eyes, and cut her tongue.
After the incident, Manisha Valmiki was initially taken to Aligarh Muslim University Jawaharlal Nehru Hospital and Medical College for treatment. According to the sources, she underwent serious treatments for two weeks.
According to media reports, Valmiki was referred to Safdarjung Hospital, Delhi on September 28, 2020, after his condition became critical. But unfortunately, she could not bear the pain of her injuries and she passed away on September 29, 2020, at 6:00 am (morning). The specialist doctor, Fakhrul Hoda, said that he has a lot of spinal damage.
Investigation and Accused
After the incident, his brother Satyendra filed a complaint at the police station. The Police registered an FIR under sections IPS 307 and the ST/SC Law. According to the Hathras Police, they had started investigating the situation when Manisha (victim) was receiving curative treatment at Aligarh’s Jawaharlal Nehru Hospital, and on 19 September 2020, they caught the main culprit, Sandeep .
According to the Police, when the victim was admitted to the Hospital, he was not in a position to give a statement. Subsequently, on 22 September 2020, Sadabad circle officer Brahm Singh recorded Minakshi Valmiki’s announcement. In his statement, he named the other three accused and assured them that she was assaulted.
In view of the subtleties given by the person in question, the police proceeded to pursue them, and on September 23, 2020, the subsequent defendant, Luvkush, was captured. The third defendant Ravi was captured on September 25, and on September 26 the fourth suspect, Rama, was arrested.
Subsequently, each of the four charges was sent to prison. The defendants were charged with attempted execution under the Scheduled Castes and Tribes (Prevention of Atrocities) Act 1989.
Protest and forced cremation
According to media reports, on Wednesday, September 30, 2020, UP police gave Manisha last rites without informing her family members. Seeing this, along with Manisha’s family, created a sensation of fury across the country.
Manisha is said to have been forcibly cremated at the behest of police officers. After this incident, people across the country took to the road to get justice for Manisha Valmiki.
