- On February 2, 2015, Lydia achieved her personal best, World #1. She was 17 years 9 months 8 days at that time.
- When she became No. 1 in professional golf in February 2015, she was the youngest player of either sex to be number 1.
- Ko was born in South Korea and moved to New Zealand with her family when she was 6 years old.
- At the age of 12 she got the New Zealand citizenship.

- Until December 22, 2013, Lydia took over the professional coaching of Guy Wilson, a business owner at Pupuke Golf Club in Auckland, New Zealand.
