BIOGRAPHY OF LUKE FORCHHAMMER

Lukas Forchhammer is a Danish singer, songwriter and former actor. He is the lead singer of the Danish pop and soul band, Lukas Graham.

He started singing at age 3, began classical training at age 8, and joined the Copenhagen Boys’ Choir. Forchhammer pursued a law degree, attending classes before dropping out after signing his recording contract. Before that, he started writing songs as a teenager and by 2010 he had taken the name Lukas Graham (Graham is his father’s middle name).

He enlisted his childhood friends to form a group that now trades under his name. No matter what I tried, the other guys just aren’t lyricists. The group began by signing to Copenhagen Records, which was a local subsidiary of Universal, who suggested they film “non-corporate material” to put online in order to create a fake underground buzz.Photo by Luke Forchhammer

It was reported that the band that put a video on YouTube was unsigned, but he said that’s not how it happened. However, the plan worked and their videos exploded on the internet and the band is now signed to Warner Bros. in the whole world. The other band members are drummer Mark Falgren aka Lovestick, and bassist Magnus Larsson aka Magnum.

The group released 3 albums in 2018: Lukas Graham, Blue Album and 3 The Purple Album. The self-titled debut album was released in 2012 by Copenhagen Records and Then We Take the World. It peaked at number one on the Danish charts and was also officially released in the United States by Warner Bros. Records on April 1, 2016.
