Luis made his debut for Nacional at the age of 18 in a match against Junior de Barranquilla.

Suarez played his first game for Ajax against Slavia Prague in Champions League qualifiers in 2007.

He made his debut for Liverpool on 2 February 2011, during a match against Stoke City in which Liverpool won 2–0 in front of their home crowd at Anfield Stadium. Luis scored the second goal for his side after coming on as a substitute.

Suarez made his Barcelona debut on August 18, 2014 during a friendly match against Club Leon of Mexico. However, he made his competitive debut on October 25, 2014 after starting against Real Madrid in El Clasico.

1. At the age of 16 (2003), Suarez joined Nacional’s youth team.
2. He and his family moved to Montevideo when he was 7 years old.
3. Luis’ parents separated when he was 9 years old.
4. In Montevideo he worked as a street sweeper.
5. Some public records indicate that Luis’ grandfather was black.
6. When he was 16, Luis hit a referee with his head, which eventually resulted in him receiving a red card.
