LP’s Ondo gov candidate, Dr. Ayodele Olorunfemi, vows to tackle corruption
Dr. Ayodele Olorunfemi, the Labour Party’s candidate for the upcoming Ondo Governorship election, pledged to tackle corruption in public offices if elected.
In an exclusive interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Lagos on Tuesday, Dr. Ayodele Olorunfemi, the Labour Party’s candidate for the upcoming Ondo Governorship election, pledged to tackle corruption in public offices if elected.
Olorunfemi emphasized that his administration would adopt a zero-tolerance policy towards corruption, ensuring that “no corrupt person will escape our system.” He noted that corruption and bribery have deprived the masses of the dividends of democracy, leading to poverty and widespread discontent.
To achieve this goal, Olorunfemi promised to establish a robust accountability system, ensure transparency in procurement processes, and leverage technology to curb bribery in public offices.
He cited Governor Alex Otti of Abia, the only LP governor in the country, as a success story due to his zero-tolerance policy on corruption.
Olorunfemi reiterated that his government would prioritize spending state resources for the benefit of the people, not for personal gain or cronyism.
With 17 political parties fielding candidates for the off-cycle governorship election in Ondo State, scheduled for November 16th by the Independent National Electoral Commission, Olorunfemi’s commitment to tackling corruption may resonate with voters seeking change.
