Biography

Lotfi Bouchnak (Arabic: لطفي بوشناق) born January 18, 1954 in Tunis (age: 67) is a Tunisian oud singer and composer who studied at Rachidia.

Lotfi excelled thanks to his vocal possibilities and his technique, his variations, his
ornamentations. He is known for his variability, he varies his product on form and content.
Lotfi Bouchnak has worked with several singers known elsewhere and in Tunisia such as:
Sayed Mekawi, the Iraqi Fathallah Ahmed and Anouar Brahem.

During the year 2004, Lotfi Bouchnak became the honorary ambassador of the Oriental Song Festival in Sarajevo and this in the month of March and also in the month of July The UN announced Lotfi as the ambassador of peace.

Lotfi Bouchnak grew up in La Medina Tunis, particularly Halfaouine, where he lived a life
full of love for traditional and oriental music and followed the principles of the Arab-Muslim family which subsequently influenced his career and his personality.
He therefore grew up in an environment that is interested in the music of Oum kalthoum and Egyptian musicians and later he joined La Rachidia and he learned the practice of the Oud with master Ali Sriti, he was able to therefore master Egyptian classical music and Syro-Andalusian and Turkish vocal and instrumental techniques.

Lotfi also began his career as a composer in 1980, so he wrote a
song for the Algerian singer Cheb Khaled and also for the Marseille rap group IAM. He has participated in several major Festivals in several countries all over the world.
