She had a brief career as an actress, but she is remembered for playing Caitlin Bree, girlfriend of the protagonist, Dante, in “Clerks.” Lisa Spoonauer, she passed away on May 20, 2017 at the age of 44, due to circumstances that were not disclosed. She left a daughter, Mia.
Born on December 6, 1972 in Rahway, New Jersey, Lisa Spoonauer made her acting debut in the aforementioned Kevin Smith film . During filming she fell in love with Jeff Anderson , who played Randal, Dante’s inseparable friend. He himself proposed to her on the film set on the last day. However, they divorced in 1999.
Despite the success of the film, he almost completely abandoned acting. She returned as a supporting role in Bartender, a low-budget drama that went unnoticed, and reprized as Caitlin in an episode of the television series inspired by Clerks .
Kevin Smith declares himself devastated, for which he has written a few lines in his memory on Facebook. “I snuck into an acting class at Brookdale Community College and watched the students from behind. Lisa was the most authentic and she had a natural voice, ”explains the filmmaker. “It didn’t seem like she was acting at all, she delivered the dialogue as if she was making up the conversation at the time. Captivated, I approached her when she was in the parking lot after class and offered to be in a movie. Without fear she answered me that if it was a porn movie she was not interested. I gave him a copy of Clerks ‘ script and my phone number. He called me a few days later to tell me it wasn’t porn but everyone was talking like it was.
