Lisa Loeb is an American singer, actress, author, and philanthropist known for her skill and success as a singer. Her first commercial single, Stay (I Missed You) , was a number 1 song and was certified Platinum in the US. She has also released a couple of “Gold” certified albums. As an author, she has brought out a number of children’s books such as Lisa Loeb’s Silly Sing Along: The Disappointing Pancake and Other Crazy Songs and Songs for Movin’ and Shakin’. Lisa Loeb has an intense and grueling training regime in place. She does strength training twice a week with her personal trainer. She goes to the gym three to four times a week for cardio. She used to incorporate long cardio sessions into her routine.
For her fitness cardio work, she jogs on the treadmill. She likes mountain sprints and jumping for her outdoor cardio sessions. Since giving birth to her daughter, she has cut her cardio sessions down to 30 minutes to better accommodate her busy life.
Lisa complements her fitness regimen by eating a healthy, clean diet. She eats lots of fresh vegetables like kale, celery, carrots and broccoli. She also eats seasonal fruits like apples, berries, bananas, oranges, and watermelons. When it comes to grains, she favors high-fiber sources like quinoa, brown rice, whole wheat pasta, beans, and lentils. To satisfy her sweet appetite, she eats goat milk ice cream every night. She tops the ice cream with Greek yogurt and other treats like chocolate chips, cherry jam, and a piece of biscuit or cake.

- As a child, she began studying the piano for the first time. She later decided to switch to guitar.
- She has done extensive activism work for the Camp Lisa Foundation , which she started herself and sent the underprivileged students to summer camps in partnership with SCOPE (Summer Camp Opportunities Promote Education, Inc.).
- While in high school, she had her own radio show on 88.5 KRSM-FM, licensed to a boys’ school. She hosted her show for 3 years.
- In 1990 she formed her own band called Nine Stories . The band’s name was inspired by the novel by JD Salinger.
- She sold the purple tape from Purple Duct Tape to fans at the gigs. She also passed it on to the scouts and representatives of the leading labels.
- Lisa had her first big break in 1994 after her single Stay (I Missed You) was featured in the credits of the film, Reality Bites .
- She had made her breakthrough with the help of her close friend and actor Ethan Hawke, who had used Stay (I Missed You) in his plays and had given cassette tape of the single to Ben Stiller, who directed Reality Bites .
- Her song, Stay (I Missed You) managed to reach the top of the music charts and Loeb became the music artist to have a song top the Hot 100 without signing on to a record label.
