Lisa Banes
She played the mother of Rosamund Pike, in “Lost”. Actress Lisa Banes died on June 14, 2021, at the age of 65, at Mount Sinai Saint Luke Hospital in New York, ten days after she was admitted after being hit by a hit-and-run motorist.
Born on July 9, 1955, in Chagrin Falls (Ohio), Lisa Lou Banes –her full name– studied acting at the Juilliard School, a prestigious institution in New York. She soon began to lavish herself in the theater, with titles such as “Rumors”, by Neil Simon , in 1988.
She made her big screen debut as the mother of the children in The New Hampshire Hotel , from 1984. Lisa Banes also played the rich woman that Tom Cruise tried to seduce for a bet in Cocktail , and a gynecologist in Miami , played by Sarah Jessica Parker .
Romantically linked to journalist Kathryn Kranhold, Lisa Banes has also appeared in such titles as Young Gun , Dragonfly, and The Wellness Cure . David Fincher chose her to play Marybeth Elliott, progenitor of the protagonist in the thriller Lost .
Over the years, Lisa Banes has lavished herself on television, with TV movies like The Hidden Truth , and series like Six Feet Under and Them , which was her last job.
