The late Bruce Lee’s wife is something above being the widow of the ‘King of Martial Arts’. Linda Lee Cadwell is a former teacher, writer and martial arts enthusiast in the United States.

LINDA LEE CADWELL – YOUTH, EDUCATION

Cadwell was born as Linda Emery in 1945 on March 21 to Vivian and Everett Emery in Everett, Washington, United States. She is of Swedish, Irish and English descent, descended from her parents.

At first, she attended Edmond Meany Jr. High for her high school education. However, later she moved to Seattle and joined Garfield High School, Washington. Although she also registered for graduation at the University of Washington, she did not.

It was several years later that Linda Lee continued her studies in political science. Additionally, she had a teaching degree which led to her career becoming a kindergarten teacher.

LINDA LEE CADWELL- MARRIAGE TO BRUCE LEE

Bruce Lee was a student at the University of Washington when the two first met. While Bruce was visiting high school, Linda was watching a Kung Fu demonstration, the girl’s enthusiasm for Kung Fu brought them closer together.

Linda Emery married Bruce Lee in August 1964. Their son Brandon Lee was born in 1965. And four years later Linda gave birth to Shannon Emery Lee, their daughter in 1969.

Linda Lee had a happy family with her husband and two children until her husband died in July 1973. The sad thing is that her husband left her alone to raise their children. At 32, Hollywood star Bruce Lee died of heatstroke .

LINDA LEE CADWELL – LATER LIFE

Linda has done and continues to do everything she could to continue her late husband’s work. In the process, she even wrote her first book “Bruce Lee: The Man Only I Knew” which she published in 1975. Likewise, her second book “The Life and Tragic Death of Bruce Lee” was published in 1989 .

Linda asked her children to follow the same path their father followed. His son was a martial artist and actor. Brandon starred in Laser Mission (1989), Showdown in Little Tokyo (1991), Rapid Fire (1992), and The Crow (1994). Brandon Lee was killed in a shooting accident while filming ‘The Crow’. He was then only 28 years old.

Since Linda has her daughter Shannon by her side. Shannon has also followed in her father’s footsteps to become an actress, producer, businesswoman and martial artist. Shannon chairs the Bruce Lee Foundation and serves to spread Bruce Lee’s philosophy on life and the martial arts.

Linda Lee married Tom Bleecker between 1988 and 1990. She then married her current husband Bruce Cadwell in 1991, who had attended high school with Linda. Bruce Cadwell himself is a writer and had helped Linda write about her late husband Bruce Lee.
