  1. Before fully focusing on his rap career, he worked as an account manager at an advertising agency called Goodbye, Silverstein & Partners . After his monthly reports sent out as rap videos became popular, they decided to move him to the creative department.
  2. While working in the agency’s creative department, he wrote copy for popular ads, including the NBA BIG campaign.
  3. At the age of 14 he got the opportunity to open for the legendary R&B group, 112 .
  4. He started rapping while studying at school in 5th grade. He had written the history of Alexander Pushkin using rap rhymes.
  5. Lil Dicky originally started his rap career so he could use his comedic skills to work as a writer for films and TV shows.
  6. He began work on his debut mixtape, So Heavy , in 2011. However, it took him 2 years to complete the mixtape. Most of the music for the mixtape was recorded using a $400 microphone and Macbook Pro .
  7. His first big break came with the release of Ex-Boyfriend ‘s music video . The video garnered more than a million views on YouTube in 24 hours.
