He has three other children from his first marriage to Ernesto Asch (married August 11, 1996 and divorced September 24, 2003): sons Río Everest Phoenix-Asch (born June 1997) and Indigo Orion Phoenix-Asch (born in November 1999 and died of pneumonia in December 2001), and their daughter Scarlet Jasmine Fresno of Phoenix (born July 2, 2001).
