Li Hua Li
For her youthful beauty, Li Hua Li earned the nickname “The Evergreen Tree of China” in her native country. The actress, who starred in 120 films, including the US production “China Doll”, has died in Hong Kong at the age of 92.
Born on July 17, 1924 in Shanghai, Li Hua Li was the daughter of Li Guifang, a famous Peking Opera actor. He joined the school of this institution at the age of 12. He performed his first film, San xiao xu ji, in 1940. Throughout the decade and the next, he became a great star in the eastern country, lavishing himself on numerous titles, almost none seen abroad.
Despite the fact that she barely knew broken English, she was signed in 1958 by Hollywood director Frank Borzage to star in China Doll , where she played a woman sold to take care of domestic service for an American officer, during World War II. He had the face of Victor Mature , at the time of his greatest popularity.
It was an isolated experience, because after filming finished, she returned to China, where she remained quite active until her retirement in 1982. She was married to Chun Yen, an actor and director, until his death in 1980. She later dated two other times.
