Leonardo Wilhelm DiCaprio came into the world in 1974 and despite being born in California, he has Italian ancestry on his father’s side, and German on his mother’s side. It is said that his name was his mother’s decision when, while pregnant, she looked at a painting by Leonardo Da Vinci, and the child gave a little kick inside him. His first appearance on the screens was in the 90s, in television series such as Parenthood , The new Lassie or the best known, The problems grow . Despite being minor roles, DiCaprio was beginning to prove his worth as an actor, and that is that he was a lively and photogenic child in front of the camera, with that characteristic blond hair and blue eyes.

After participating as a secondary in that crazy western titled Quick and Deadly (1995), along with Sharon Stone , Gene Hackman and Russell Crowe , no more and no less, Baz Luhrmann signed him to play the enamored protagonist in Romeo and Juliet, by William Shakespeare . And this project was decisive in becoming a youth idol, especially among girls, and an enormously talented actor. If the story was romantic in itself, the fact that it was also starring Leonardo DiCaprio was enough to attract youth to the theaters, who wanted to get rid of love before his adorable Leo.

Throughout his career he has been considered for roles such as Robin in Batman Forever or Anakin for the latest Star Wars trilogy , but they never materialized. He is very good friends with Tobey Maguire , Mark Wahlberg or Lukas Haas ; he speaks a little bit of German and has confirmed in previous statements that Scorsese is his favorite director of whom he says “he is a perfectionist and obsessed with details”. Shutter Island has just been filmed with him .

Leonardo DiCaprio is predicted a profitable future in the cinema: because he knows how to choose his films, paying attention to the directors, and because he has talent as an actor.
