Lawrence Francis O’Donnell Jr., an American journalist, producer, actor, political analyst, and writer, is best known for hosting The Last Word with Lawrence O’Donnell. He began his political career as an aide to US Senator Daniel Patrick Moynihan and served as staff director for the Senate Finance Committee. He has described himself as a ‘practical European socialist’.
As an actor and occasional film producer, Lawrence O’Donnell has appeared as a recurring supporting character on the HBO series Boy Love.

Lawrence O’Donnell was born on November 7, 1951 in Boston. He is the son of Frances Marie, an office manager, and Lawrence Francis O’Donnell Sr., an attorney. He is of Irish descent and belongs to the American nationality. He grew up Catholic.
