Early age and education

Lawrence E. Golub grew up in New York. Both his mother and his father came from poor families. Despite his family background, Golub joined Harvard College, where he earned his bachelor’s degree magna cum laude.
Golub had a passion for science since his school days. He studied the emerging DNA technology at the time. He took pre-med courses in college, however, later settling for a business major.

Lawrence E. Golub is married to an American television personality and businesswoman Karen Finerman , she is the CEO and President of a New York-based hedge fund, Metropolitan Capital Advisors. Golub has had two sets of twins with Karen Finerman via IVF. He lives in a large apartment on the Upper East Side with millionaire Karen Finerman.
